INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELING
Providing education and counseling for clients with eating disorders, diabetes, hypertension, digestive issues, autoimmune diseases and other clinical concerns. Throughout my career, I have continued to develop and apply experience and training to improve the quality of life for people by helping them attain freedom from unproductive choices by developing and practicing a more balanced lifestyle and body acceptance.
By collaborating in these sessions the goal is for the client to develop a relationship around their food and bodies that will result in a peaceful relationship with food and their body.
Private counseling sessions can be booked by contacting me directly at: Karen@mindfuleatingseattle.com
Sessions are available in North Seattle, Tacoma or via telehealth or by phone.
MINDFUL EATING, MINDFUL LIVING - SEPARATE COURSES AVAILABLE FOR ADULTS, TEENS OR CHILDREN.
"When practiced to its fullest, mindful eating turns a simple meal into a spiritual experience, giving us a deep appreciation of all that went into the meal's creation as well a deep understanding of the relationship between the food on our table, our own health, and our planet's health." - Thich Nhat Hanh
In this class, I use my experience as a mindful meditation teacher and registered dietitian to help people consciously explore their relationship with food. Over this 8-week class, students will increase awareness around food choices and the whens, whys and whats of how we choose to relate to food in the way we do. This class is experiential and has a high level of class participation.
Benefits of mindful eating include a calmer, more conscious relationship with food, eating and, ultimately, ourselves.
There will be home practice that will take from 20 to 40 minutes daily and will include mindful eating skills and daily mindfulness practice.
Please contact Karen for info on when the next session will begin . These sessions are available on an individual basis as well.
My intention is to collaborate with clients, helping them to remove obstacles that prevent them from living their lives fully.
“If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete.”
— Jack Kornfield
